RE: Funny (not) thing happened while we were at Pismo...

This whole thread has been great. I think Pismo is very fun and part of that fun is watching these nice rigs come in. I am 29 years old and been goin to pismo since i was born. We all work hard for our toys and yes we still do stupid crap. either way, it is good entertainment. This whole time i have been wondering how the tongue on the trailer looked after the incident. I cant imagine that it was fine...? By the way. Pismo was beautiful last weekend!

RE: WW Repairs

OK here we go. -Complete new middle section of frame was installed (gusset to gusset) -all connecting bracing which travels from one side to the other was new and welded together (very good welds by the way) -An additional "outrigger" was installed on both sides of the trailer between the two axles. -Bracing was welded onto the bottom of the c-channel frame extending from the bottom up to the lateral bracing extending about 1 foot from frame to cross member -spring hangers were reattached/welded to bottom of frame with an additional 1/4 piece of steel used as backing to provide 100 percent surface area to be in contact. -there are 3 spring hangers (double axle) / shackle hangers located on each side of the trailer for a total of 6. A piece of 2x2 tube steel was installed from one hanger to the other located on the other side of the trailer. This is to prevent any side to side movement when the trailer axles are cutting during a turn. thats about the extent of it. on the inside i know what they fixed but i cant figure out how. All of the cabinets line up, tv is perfect, beds operate smoothly, complete new floor from vinyl back to ramp door. no signs of any fix to be detected. There was a tongue problem. which means that it was a weight problem, however my trailer has the beefed up tongue already they did not touch it. I will try to get some pics up

RE: WW Repairs

Just so everyone knows. The issues with the frames of the fs2500 has almost nothing to do with weight, unless it is the tongue that needs fixin. The bending and breaking behind the rear axles is due to the lack of cross bracing from bottom of c-channal to cross members. this results in when a trailer is turning and the rear axles starts to cut, the leaf hangers are welded to the bottom of the c-channel, the the frame starts to tweak because there is no bracing. The fix from the factory clearly shows no signs of weight reinforcement but lateral reinforcement. I hope I explained that well enough. If you look and any other trailer frame you can clearly see that this was one thing was over looked in the manufacturing. If you have questions on the fix from my fs2500 just let me know.

RE: WW Repairs

I have been leaving messages for 3 days now at WW with Rafael about my 2007 WW FS2500 Superlite and the frame bending and pulling the wheel well away from the wall and floor and the panel next to the frigde bulging out and I have not received a call back yet. I have called several times a day. I have an appointment on Monday to take my trailer into the dealer I purchased it from. But, I dont want to take it into my dealer if they wont be able to do anything because it has to be shipped back to WW for the frame repairs. Does anyone know anyone else at WW I can try and get ahold of today so I can find our what I need to do before Monday when I take my trailer to the dealer ? J get a hold of Max. extension 140. ask him what to do next.

RE: WW Repairs

they will fix it. but, like y-guy said. if title has changed then what problem is it of yours? just call the 800-500-9914 and get someone in service. tell them the situation and they might tell you to have giant rv call since it is in their hands

RE: WW Repairs

Please help with issue! I have a peculiar issue that I will outline here. I recently traded in my 2007 FS2500 with Giant RV. It was a long distance trade as I am in Washington State and had my trailer shipped to them and the new one shipped to me. Long story short, they called today and said that I have misrepresented my trade because I have frame damage which has caused the wheels to tear away the wheel boxes and the floor to become buckled. I had no idea of this condition before the trade and would have definitely gotten it fixed under the recall if I had. Who can I talk with at WW or email to start getting this resolved? It worries me when Giant RV starts talking about bringing legal issues up and says that I should talk with their lawyer (which probably is not a good idea.) Can anyone help me out? Thanks! Chris This is a good one... sounds like the fix is the same thing that happened to mine. However, if in fact that during the trip to cali that this happened then it is legit that a dealer would not want to accept this trade. The good news is that the trailer is in cali already and WW can pick it up from giant for the repairs. The bad news is that they may not want to accept the trade after the repair (much like how i dont want mine because it has been damaged). Get a hold of Max or Donald at WW to find out what you need to do. very unfortunate BUT, why would you want to trade it in when you can get more selling it on the street? they dont give very much on a trade in.

RE: WW Repairs

I have an 07 FS2500 that I have used about 7 times. Back in March I was checking it out before a 5 day weekend at Hollister and found that the frame was bent between the rear axels on passenger side. The axels were pushed over about 2-3"s therefore causing the tire to wear on the inner wheel well when loaded. One of the tires was worn comppletely smooth in the inside. Long story short, I took many pics and sent to Giant RV in Montclaire as well as WW. This was on Sunday, Monday morning I recieved a call from Giant in shock from the pics I had sent that call was followed in short order by a call from WW. WW sent a driver to my house on Wed and picked up the Trailer in Santa Rosa and 4 weeks later I received it back with a totally upgraded or new frame as well as new sink, new range, roof sag fixed, new refrig wall, floor all repaired and painted, new carpet, new tires. So basically my trailer is like new again and I am completely happy. They really stepped up to the plate for me and for that my hat is off to them. They kept saying that they would take care of everything and they did. holy cow... this is the EXACT same thing i am going through.... they picked it up three weeks ago and called me friday ans said it was done and they are going to deliver the coach today or tomorrow.... damn. that was fast... he also stated the same thing... new frame, axles, all undercarriage, etc. the list went on. I hope mine looks like new again.

RE: WW Repairs

vspec... I belive if this were a smaller company then we all would be in trouble. However, weekend warrior is huge and actually not losing to much out of all this. After talking with warranty at the factory, Zieman, the manufacturer of the frames is taking the brunt of it. The frame repairs and all costs associated with the frame repairs and damage caused by the frame failure. The lawsuit against warrior on the frames explains this. Powerforce, The only problem that i see coming out of the frame repairs or all repairs they do, is this... the failure of a frame doesnt just effect the frame. It effects everything down to the tow vehicle. Will WW continue to cover your trailer after the repairs are made? VERY important. Makesure that when taking delivery of the repaired trailer that you look for any damge caused by the frame failure and not repaired because they think it was your fault. Update on my trailer.. not much... it is currently in transit to the factory... god bless the man towing this thing 7 hours to the facility. the rear axle isnt even aligned, the rear axle is sitting on the frame, and the rear of the trailer bouces up and down like a flag flapping in the wind...

RE: WW Repairs

Power, I have been happy with the "everyday" warranty fixes but this one makes me nervous. Virtually the whole right rear side of my trailer has sagged about 1-1/2". The easy thing for WW to say was "we are going to basically give you a new middle portion of your frame" WHAT! does that fix the tv cabinet that has sagged with the rear of the trailer? does that fix the OSB floor decking that has split apart? does that fix the rear door that wont close unless you jam it in? What about the cosmetic damage made by the tire flying off after the frame rubbed on the tire and busted the lugs on the wheel drum? How do you "jack" up the trailer and get it to sit level again after the aluminum, windows, roof, studs in the wall have all "flexed" where it shouldn't? And replace the frame? I guess i leave it up to them huh? I took it to the dealership... they contacted WW and explained to them that they can not fix this. WW is picking it up at the dealership this week and taking it back to their shop in SoCal. I am fearing the worst on this... Is yours in the shop right now?

The photos show a bend in the fs2500 superlite frame right at the rear wheels alowing the frame to "drop" to the rear. The picture of the floor with the flashlight shows the interior wheel well cover and the gap below it and the floor sheating drooping down. What a mess... The first photo is from the rear shackle forward showing the significance of the bend in the frame. The second one show the "creese" in the bottom flange. What i did not take a picture of was that the welds of every cross member running from one side to the other are seperated allowing huge flex everywhere it shouldn't. The upper cabinet where the TV is located has drooped the rear. and the axle has slammed into the frame right at the bend. The dealer is shipping it to socal and off their hands. I am a little nervous about a fix for this. I dont belive they can ever get this back to "normal". And do i want to accept a FIX for this. Everything in this trailer has "moved" due to the flex in the frame. The last photo is taken from top of frame down after my wheel sheered off the lugs and past me on the freeway... rear axle tracking at an angle now. HELP!
